Philosophy, Scientific Knowledge, and Concept Formation in Geulincx and Descartes

This book addresses the ideas of the little known Dutch philosopher Geulincx and the positions taken by Descartes and other philosophers on fundamental scientific knowledge. It is written in a clear language in which Geulincx’ individual position in thinking on epistemology is made apparent. This study shows that the personal opinions of Geulincx form a step in the development of Descartes to Kant. An important book for the study of 17th century philosophy.
